Prowly gains a business angel

Published

Prowly.com, the web app aimed at the PR industry, has gained a private investor. His name is Lech Kaniuk, the founder and managing director at PizzaPortal.pl, who's been privately investing in promising start-ups.

In April 2015, the group of investors in Prowly.com was joined by a busines angel. Lech Kaniuk is the founder and managing director at the Restaurant Partner Polska company, which initially belonged to the Sweden-based OnlinePizza Norden group. In April 2012, it was taken over by the German investor Delivery Hero for 120 mln PLN. As a result, the Pizzaportal.pl site has become a part of a holding offering online food delivery services in 14 countries spread over 4 continents.

- Prowly.com offers innovative solution and we already have plenty of shared ideas that have the potential to revolutionise the PR industry. I strongly believe that Prowly.com will become the biggest platform in its category - says Lech Kaniuk.

Prowly.com was launched at the break of November and December 2013.  In its early stages, the project received funding from IQ Partners S.A.

- Our investment at the seed level served to create MVP and introduce the product to the market. We've considered further rounds of investment from the early stages in case of positive reception of the product. I'm sure that Lech Kaniuk's participation in the Prowly.com project will translate into the company's dynamic growth. Besides capital, he also brings in his rich know-how and experience, including running projects outside of Poland - adds Maciej Hazubski, the president at IQ Partners S.A.

The parties are not making the worth or the scale of investment public. What is known, is that the invested means will be directed to intensify sales within Poland, as well as boost developer work related to launching Prowly in foreign markets.
Prowly.com is an online app facilitating public relations management. The app is aimed at PR agency officers, internal corporate PR departments, as well as freelance PR specialists. It makes managing media databases easier and optimises the process of creation and distribution of press materials for PR professionals. Since Prowly's premiere, nearly 1,500 users have signed up for the app. The start-up already has several dozen of clients of various size, and the number is growing every month. A number of new features have been scheduled for release in May this year.

A new app that will make PR pros work easier

One of the most important tasks of any PR pro is drawing up and sending out press releases to journalists. So far, the Polish market has lacked a tool that would facilitate this process and make it both-ends-friendly. The architects behind the recently launched Prowly.com app have decided to fill the void. The start-up is a part of the portfolio of the IQ Partners S.A. fund.
